  • Duties during the event June 14
  • Duties related to clean up and take down June 14.

All of the volunteer roles are short-term and fun and offer opportunities for those with different interests, skills and schedules. High school volunteer hours are also credited.

Pre-event roles:

Neighbourhood and beyond Postering Team

Duties: Put up about 25 posters in an assigned area between Saturday May 30 and Saturday June 6.

Do you walk, push a stroller or ride a bike in the Uptown West Neighbourhood and beyond? Do you walk regularly along King Street in Uptown Waterloo? This might be a position for you. This might be a good family volunteering opportunity.

Time commitment: About 2 hours.

To bring: A stapler, and a roll of tape.

Pre-event and event day roles:

Host Sign Installation and Takedown Team

Do you like to walk or bike (with a trailer) in the neighbourhood and do a bit of exercise on the way?

Duties: This team will install coroplast signs on the lawns of about 24 host homes. The team will then return at the end of the event and collect the signs and return them to their storage spot.

Time commitment: Installation to happen the day before the event, Saturday June 13 or Sunday morning, June 14.

Takedown to happen right after the event finishes (Sunday June 14 after 5 pm).

To bring: Wear a hat, sunscreen and comfy walking shoes. A small hammer might be helpful. If you have access to a wheelbarrow, wagon, bike trailer or maybe even a car trunk, that would be helpful, but not a requirement for this position.
