Whoomp! There it is! 2014 line-up announced

We are absolutely stoked to announce the musicians participating in the 2014 Grand Porch Party. It’s a mix of familiar faces and new arrivals, offering everything from bluegrass to bodhran, rock to indie-pop. And the performers are coming from as far away as Sarnia (hello there, the Imperial City!) to join you on the day. Rain or shine, it’s going to be one fantastic afternoon on Sunday, June 8!

Here’s who you’ll be hearing:

  • Acoustic Steel – Cruisy collaborations on the Jamaican steel drums. Returning from 2012
  • Ashley Dean – Impromptu opera! Returning from 2013
  • Birch – New takes on classic rock. New to the GPP!
  • The Butcher’s Wife – Awesome Appalachian-country songs. Returning from 2012.
  • Dan Walsh – Singer-songwriter (with one mean beard). New to the GPP!
  • The Empire School Choir – Proving that local talent starts young! New to the GPP
  • Failte Band – Celtic jam. Returning from 2012.
  • The Fancy Dicks – Rockin’ it ’90s style. New to the GPP!
  • Grand River New Horizons – Community made classical collaborations. Returning from 2013.
  • Ian Reid – All ages tunes. Returning from 2013.
  • Jojo Worthington – Indie pop. New to the GPP!
  • Juneyt – Nuevo flamenco. New to the GPP!
  • KatelynandTrevor – Alternative. New to the GPP!
  • The Kramdens – Nationally-known roots-rock outfit (featuring none other than CBC K-W host Craig Norris). New to the GPP!
  • Lucas Stagg with Tanya Phillipovich – Roots rock. Returning from 2013.
  • Lynn Jackson + Chris Boyne – Beautiful footsy, folk-pop. Returning from 2012.
  • The Pollinators – Roots, folk and country. New to the GPP!
  • Robb Hill band – Alternative rock/pop. New to the GPP!
  • Scott Wicken & Co – Singer-songwriter being joined by some of his creative collaborative crew. Returning from 2012.
  • The Short Films – Atmospheric pop that blew the porch down last year! Returning from 2013.
  • The Skalywags – Boppy, original kids tunes. A must-see for the littlies! Returning from 2013.
  • The Sleepy Valley Boys – Old time tunes from the Eastern mountain ranges. New to the GPP.
  • Substream – Alternative pop-rock band all the way from Sarnia! New to the GPP.
  • The Vaudevillian – Old-time blues and fan favourite! Returning from 2013.

We’re still finalizing the very final acts, and will let you know as soon as they’re locked in. Until then, get pumped! This is gonna be great!
