It’s sponsor week here at the Grand Porch Party, and we want to tell you all about the fabulous organizations that are supporting us for our June 8 event. From paying and feeding our musicians, to providing base funding for the event itself, these are the people behind the people, if you know what we mean. And the GPP is pretty ace, so that makes our supporters acer than ace. We heart them big time.
Each day this week, we’ll profile one of our sponsors. First up is our event sponsor: The City of Waterloo.
The Grand Porch Party was awarded a grant under the 2014 Community Cash Grant Program. This is a fantastic program that helps volunteer and not-for-profit groups (like us) do fun, engaging things (like put on a free afternoon of community-building, environment-loving, arts-promoting fun).
The grant funding will enable us to make the event safer and more inclusive, and will help us build the sustainability of the GPP. Oh, and it will also cover the cost of toilets. Hurrah!
(Check out all of our sponsors on the handily titled “Sponsors” page. Then head Uptown and check ’em out in person. Local is love, people.)
