The idea: Stage a free music event to celebrate the launch of Alternatives Journal’s first Music+Environment issue.
The plan: Invite musicians to play on the front porches of homes in the Uptown Waterloo neighbourhood bordered by Euclid, William, Roslin and Dawson streets (just behind Waterloo Town Square).
The details: From 3pm to 5pm on Sunday, June 12, 2011, anyone and everyone can come stroll the neighbourhood, listening to great music and feeling the sun on your skin (or rain, if that’s the case — bring umbrellas!). Plus, this will be held on Canadian Rivers Day, so we’ll be sharing some quirky info and lots of love with our local watershed, The Grand.
If you live in this neighbourhood and would like to donate use of your porch, or are a musician interested in playing on the day, please email Alternatives Journal managing editor Tenille Bonoguore at tenille (at) alternativesjournal.ca.
We look forward to seeing you all on June 12!
